Ok that is a good q, for some reason,it seems like all the soundcard guys got together and agreed NOT to label their cards with anything usefull, what you need to do, is look for the FCC ID#, (make sure its not the canadian one,) And do a search entering "FCC#...and then the number, use yahoo, or go directly to the FCC ID site, Id put the lik, but If you cant find it , you might want to lweave that card alone (haha)
good luck, and remember that you cannot use a 16 bit card in a motherboard rated for 8, and so on.

First thing would be is the card integrated into the motherboard or is it a seperate card. If it is a seperate card should be able to find a model number or something like that on the card somewhere and do a search on the net. This will usually result in a find of manufacturer then go to the manufacturers website and download driver. If integrated then download driver from motherboard manufacturers website

You could start by telling us the make and model of your computer. If home built, tell us the make and model of your motherboard.
To get more info about your PC, try the free Belarc Advisor from:
Then, re-post and tell us WHY you asked this question, with specifics about what went wrong. Then, maybe we can help.

Right click on My Computer, click properties, click the hardware tab, choose device manager and scroll down and lick on the line that says sound. It should list your sound card there with the manufacturers name first.
