I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on my back porch and filled it
with seed. Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food. But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue. Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs, the table... everywhere. Then some of the birds turned mean: They would dive bomb me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket. And others birds were boisterous and loud: They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded
that I fill it when it got low on food. After a while, I couldn't even sit on my own back porch anymore.I took down the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio. Soon, the back yard was like it used to be...quiet, serene

and no one demanding their rights to a free meal.

Now lets see...our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care, free education and allows anyone born here to be a automatic citizen. Then the illegals came by the tens of thousands. Suddenly our taxes went up to pay for free services; small
apartments are housing 5 families: you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor: your child's 2nd grade class is behind other schools because over half the class doesn't speak English: Corn
Flakes now come in a bilingual box; I have to press "one" to hear my bank talk to me in English, and people waving flags other than "Old Glory" are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights
and free liberties. Maybe it's time for the government to take down the bird feeder.

Take the proverbial bird feeder down.

If you don't leave food out in your kitchen, you won't get cockroaches.

Read the Children's book " If You Give a Mouse a Muffin".
When something or someone is given a handout, they tend to get lazy and bite the hand that feeds them. Those birds were dependant upon you, and you let them take advantage of you.

Well I don't think the writer of this realizes it is not just the illegals who need help. So many American families need the so call government bird feeder. If it wasn't for the services there would be a lot more families on the street homeless. Which in turns means more crime. It is not only the illegals who take advantage of the system.
But I do agree that if you come to this country you need to learn the language. When you travel abroad if you want to live there you have to learn their language. I also believe they shouldn't get so many of the luxuries that are given to them that I have to work for. I was born here in the US, it was my Grandfather on my father's side that came over from Germany and my Greatgrandfather on my Mother's side who came from Ireland. Both my father and mother served in WWII and they worked their whole lives earning what they had. My father's family are farmers that have feed Americans for the last 100 years. My mother was an emergency room nurse for over 50 years that saved the lives of people in need. If she had to wait that is only because there where others who needed the emergency care more than her child. I was in need of the emergency room not to long ago and I couldn't be seen because of the many fatal and sever auto accidents that night. That night there was an auto accident almost every 10 to 20 miles for over 100 miles because of the sudden ice storm that hit. The emergency room was packed with people who where in need of medical care a lot more than myself, I ended up going to my doctor first thing in the morning. So it isn't because illegals are being helped before her child.
I have recently been diagnosised with an encurable disease that prevents me to work at this time, I have to apply for Social Security because that is the terms of my long term disablity plan where I work. I have worked since I was seventeen years old and there are people who do not have the benifits I do so they have to rely on her so called government birdfeeder.
Does she know where her ancestors came from? The only true Americans are the American Indians, and it was our ansestors who took their land away from them and we were so greatful we gave them reservations. (I am being sarcasitic).
Although I agree with some of what she wrote I do not agree with all of it.

Good Analogy Lucky! That is exactly how it is. I could not have said it any better! I really think that, that should be required reading for every Politician and Advocacy Group out there! It seems our politician's are not for the People anymore, just for the Bird's...and mostly they are Vulture's and Scavenger's! You hit me good with that one, because I see it exactly has you described it! Thankyou GOP Princess...for starring this Question...What can I say? Muah!!!

Very good, Lucky. I had the same problem with cats. I love cats. Most cats are cuddly and fun to play with and I love their attitude. We moved to a different neighborhood last July. We took our two outside cats, Scamp & Sweetie with us of course. We set their food and water dishes on the carport.

One morning I got up and there was a beautiful gray cat waiting for breakfast alongside my two. I petted her and let her eat too. A week or so after that, Ms. Gray brought her brother to eat. By fall, we were feeding 7 extra cats who tried to beat up Scamp, successfully knocked up Sweetie. They had taken over my carport, the male cats sprayed everything and I had to scrub it down several times a week. They laid in my flowers, broke flower pots, scratched my car.

Like you, Lucky, I started bringing my two cats onto the front porch at night and feeding them there morning and evening. The other cats ripped my screen trying to get in. We had to keep water guns handy to scare them off, but finally they left.

Lucky what a perfect analogy. It's a 'Bye Bye Birdie' situation.
I made a comment a while back about the fact that so many of the classes in the children's classrooms were on the backburners so they could learn Spanish. well I got lots of hate mail and violations. I pray that it won't happen to you, but if it does... you have us.

I agree, take the feeder down.

I also do not agree with the New Immigration Bill. I would just like to see the current immigration laws enforced. Why isn't Immigration and ICE taking more strident steps in enforcing the current laws? Laws do not work unless they are enforced.
