Get out of town! Seriously, get a car and head to the Hoover Dam for a morning side trip(while it's still under 100 degrees). Go to the Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire. Or take a trip to Pahrump. It's only about an hour away, over the mountains and has the only winery in Nevada. My husband and I, usually plan these things in the morning. That way we have the afternoon and evening to spend in the casinos. If you get a car, you will have a lot more freedom to just get away from the Strip! Also, be sure to visit "Downtown" Las Vegas. The Fremont Experience is wonderful and the atmosphere is so different from the Strip. Oh, one other thing, there is a paddle wheel boat that will take you out on to lake Mead...I think the prices are a little cheaper in the afternoon. I believe it's the Desert Princess.

Not every casino offers free shows twice a night. However, there are some really neat spectacles to see like the volcano erupting in front of the Mirage, the pirate show at Treasure Island, the water show at the Bellagio and the lions at the MGM Grand (also a white tiger at the Mirage). There are also some less expensive activities like the Star Trek experience at the Las Vegas Hilton or the attractions at the Luxor - IMAX theatre, motion rides etc. There's always something going on in Vegas.

I don't want to copy and paste all the stuff there is to do, so I will give you some websites to check out.
First, this website has a list of some free stuff to do and see:
http://www.free-attractions.com/las_vegas_nevada.htm
Also, check out this online mag about vegas. There is a link to a vegas mag that is full of fun free or cheap things to do, as well as things that are more expensive. This will probably be the most useful site I have found. http://www.whats-on.com/.
