Thats because you keep buying Fords.

Ive had new Renaults, VWs, Skodas, Smarts, Citroens, Vauxhalls and even Fords (look, i was young, impressionable and stupid, ok?)

And only the Fords have been problematic from day one or indeed problematic at all.

Because the first owner is always going to spend much more time finding faults than the maker. The maker's quality control costs money, the more testing they do the more expensive the car will be. They pitch it at a level where the asking price remains competitive but the remaining faults (hopefully) won't be serious enough to deter the purchaser from buying the same brand again.

All new cars have faults, I have been in the business long enough to know that todays cars are rolling off the assembly line faster than ever, and the cars are being put together by people that will work cheap not good.

Simple as saving a buck for the automakers, and the auto industry thrives on a return buyer.

I have not bought a new vehicle since 91, Zr1.

Todays cars are mostly plastic, and airbags. No real metal in the cars, no real power, no class, no style.
Just plain ugly, where did the bodylines go?????

Wrong dealership? I strive for zero defects some times one escapes with a sunvisor light out. Making a new car ready and salesman delevery are very important. My 1 year old Pontiac GTO has 3 faults one paint flaw took months to notice and the other two seat tracks motion roughness not serious enough to take it in.
