and you see a penny on the ground but its tales up and your superstitious, but you really need that penny. Do you pick it up and risk getting bad luck?

If you were really superstitious then you would pick up that penny and toss it over your shoulder, since that's what you are supposed to do to avoid bad luck should you find it tails side up. So, that being the case, I would pick it up but not keep it.

I'm not superstitious. I probably wouldn't pick it up because it's just a penny. Also, someone else might need it more than me.

I would pick it up. A found penny on the ground is good luck as far as I am concerned.

Of course, "Find a penny, pick it up and all day you'll have good luck." I've never heard of the tails-up superstition.
But we don't have pennies in my country so finding one on the ground would be pretty rare anyway.

I wouldn't pick it up I would just look for another one (heads up) or if I couldn't find another one I would just ask if the shopkeeper or whoever, would let me off a penny or just ask if you can him/her the rest of the money tomorrow.
