does the condensation tray stop the needed uv rays for terrapins?

I dont think it does. It depends what its made out of, plastic ones, which are clear, and replaced often wont I dont think, but glass ones will take at least some of the UV rays out. Thats why you cant get sunburned (as easily) through a window.

UVB does not pass through most glass or plastics. The UVA rays sort of do, and those are what cause burns.
