the leaders are also a reall problem they just think about them self and their families but not the poor man

Although Africa had several highly advanced cultures and even empires all that ceased with the advent of Muslim traders in the 14th century. They quickly began to do two things: A) Take slaves and B) spread diseases which the Africans had no immunity to and thus killed off many they did not enslave. Their cultures went into decline and their kingdoms and empires went kaput. Western Christians finished the job beginning in the late 17th century.

There was also the problem of insufficient domesticated animals, insufficient variety of foodstuffs, no knowledge of the wheel or use of draft animals so that agriculture stayed very primitive, all being hand work. When it takes most of your energy simply to provide food for the energy to go and provide more food, it doesn't leave a lot of time for technological or even sociological development. Pity, too, because what archaeologists have discovered in sub-Saharan Africa is tantalizing, marvelous and painful. What they might have accomplished had they had oxen and plowshares!

Oh and their greatest wealth from our point of view is diamonds, gold and other precious minerals. To the Africans of the past, those were NOT worth nearly as much as a good blacksmith would have been!

There is somewhere between a thousand and a few thousand reasons for this. But when you boil them all down you will find that they are all excuses for a simple reason why Africa; despite her vast riches is so poor.
Mismanagement.
That's it. It is a simple matter of mismanagement. It involves every nation on the continent, and it doesn't matter what else is said about it. You can cite greed, power hunger, egotistical tyrants, and a whole host of other human factors. They are all the reasons for this monolithic mismanagement of the resources of Africa.

Because western countries loan them money and when they default on their loans the western countries use the natural resources as payment. Its really a scam, they are lent money knowing that they will never be repaid. That is why the west hates when a country turns communist because they lose their investment
