Oh my God how crazy. I suppose as the saying goes a fool and their money. Honestly I think you can do it for a fraction of that, who in this day and age has twenty thousand POUNDS!!!! lying around, so that makes for a lovley start to married life a huge debt of 20,000 plus honeymoon. Also where on earth are you supposed to come up with a deposit for a home or flat not much pressure there then!!!

Handmade favours on the table what the!!! come on I read heat magazine I'm not that out of touch with things it's a load of pomp isent it all for one day. Don't get me wrong I put so much planning into my own wedding day and it was one of the best days of my life that was 14 years ago my wedding ring cost 36.00 pounds old stock so I got it cheap. My friend did my hair cost nothing I did my own nails makeup etc again cost nothing the flowers I found out there was another wedding on in the church after mine so I contacted the lady in question and we went half's on the flowers. A local taxi with lovely ribbons etc brought me to the church I think it only cost 50.00 for the day My shoes only cost 7.00 who was looking at them I never wore them again anyway Video was a present from friends My dress didn't cost the earth either can you believe this I paid for it weekly (we really had no money back then) bridesmaids dresses I designed them and got a local lady to make them then sold them back to her as she loved them(dressmaker) she then hired them out it only cost me about seventy pounds my bridesmaids (2 sisters) dyed their own shoes to match dresses with a cheap cold dye!! I am sure people have done it a lot cheaper than me too. But it can be done as for the reception my wonderfull parents came to our rescue but it certainly was not anything near ten thousand I think it was almost 3,000 my mother invited about 90 guests mainly her friends and family I had all my close friends there which was all that mattered to me its the parents day as much as the bride and groom.

We went to Kerry for a week with the money we got off our guests so that was our honeymoon we had each other and that was all that mattered to us. We started Married life out with no debt well we had no money either and slowly built everything that we have together and now here we are most importantly still very happily married maybe because we never had all that pressure to start with, life is hard enough why do some people bring so much more on themselves.

My view? Skip the wedding, shack-up, and be happy. Or, have a simple ceremony, skip the trimmings, and be happy. Use that ridiculous amount of money above to place a down payment on a home. Imagine! All that for one day which the couple rarely enjoys because they are so busy jumping through hoops! Lord!

the quantity of money this is spent for a marriage is ridiculous! the main hassle-unfastened centers could be the main stylish! It does no longer take all this hoopla for attractiveness, splendor and love between 2 hearts to make an exceedingly particular celebration and thoughts. i will in no way comprehend this approach. maximum of those couples set a time-honored with how they plan their ceremony. Then, whilst the honeymoon is over, this time-honored can no longer be won..."money issues." examine have shown that maximum persons divorce over money. What a tragic and shallow assertion and findings. in this age, many, no longer all, marriages are planned with the marriage day because of the fact the concentration. this is faulty. they could desire to could desire to study the marital vows and picture upon them in the previous being given a license to marry. this is the commitments that are assume to be lifetime provides made that day, no longer the gala festivities! truthfully everyone seems to be focusing on what advert men and magazines tell them and this is all superficial nonsense. The intensity of marriage and its which ability seems to have taken a backseat to "eye candy", honeymoons, pseudo-environment on an analogous time as the vows are taking a backseat in a marriage. for that reason, diverse airings on television for Divorce court docket!

weddings are nuts! you spend a fourtune feeding a bunch of people (a) you don't know or (b) you don't like! F-them! that kind of money get you a great cruise and you can get married by the ships capitan... as for family and friends?? if they want a big party let them throw one for you when you get back...afterall it's your big day.....if it was your birthday you wouldn't be expected to organise and pay for your own party would you? so why should your wedding day be any different?

Extortionate isn't it, you will need a cake as well so that's £300 which you cake just make yourself and how you want it as well. Well remind me to keep it simple or just get married at a registry office.

That's about right.... you gotta think, a normal person will only get wed once so they want the best... you can have your tightass shoe string wedding but this is the norm these days.

That is absurd! We have been told we will need at least £15,000.00, rubbish, we will all of the above and we are doing it on £8,000.00. It is all a con, they just make you feel bad for not spending a fortune.
