I had this, but mine was due to lack of caffeine. I was having withdrawals and it was causing migraines. I spoke to my midwife and she suggested to start drinking coffee again, but within moderation. I would ring and speak to your doctor just to be on the safe side. They really don't mind how often they see pregnant women, their concern is that you and baby are healthy.

I had a lot of headaches in the first 2 trimesters of pregnancy and was told by the doctor its normal - and caused by hormone surges.
You should take paracetamol, and drink LOADS. Avoid caffeine, do 20 minutes excercise a day (even a walk round the block) and get plenty of sleep.
I would recommend you visit the doctor anyway to get your blood pressure checked because headaches can be a sign of pre-eclampsia but on the whole, if you've no other symptoms, the chances are you'll be fine.
Best wishes

Occasional headaches normal. Do you suffer from high blood pressure?? Since you had a headache since Saturday, go see your GP or midwife NOW to get it checked out!! It may be a migraine that is taking its time to ease off, but headaches in pregnancy could be a sign of raised blood pressure!!!

Hi charlie C,

Yes headaches are a part of some pregnacy. Be sure to tell the doctor you are having them because you can't just take anything when pregnant. I have migraines & take prescription drugs for them. Also they have a roll on for headache's it's called Head On & you can get this at any drugstore, anything minty helps- mint tea, candy mints-altoids, warm bath's, cold wash cloth on forehead & a warm washcloth on back of neck. Good luck & congrats on pregnacy. :O)

unfortunately it's normal, i had them through out my pregnancy, it's because of all the hormones,,,,, i took 2 paracetamol, as that's safe in pregnancy, took a cool face washer and went and layed in bed, you could prop yourself up on pillows if you cant lay down, also if they get worse go and see your doc, as there are other things that can cause these headaches during pregnancy, but it sounds normal to me, but im not a doc, hope this helps!

You could be suffering from migraines. They can be terrible, I never had a migraine until I was pregnant and now I suffer from them a couple of times a year.

I think you should go to your midwife or Gp and have your blood pressure checked to make sure it is not high.
