i switched from ADSL to Cable, and my ISP cannot help me with my router issues....

when i log onto the internet without a router, i have internet.. i just enter the username and pass from the ISP.

but when i try to connect the router to the modem, and the 2 computers, only 1 computer has internet, and mine doesnt...

what can be the problem here???

Are you connecting to a VPN and can only get one machine connected? L2TP is Layer two tunnelling protocol which is used basically for VPN's. Should not affect direct internet connections. If you really need to connect more than one machine to a VPN the router will have to allow more than one tunnel (most dont) or you need a router that does the VPN for you. Generally the router connects to the Cable company with DHCP but if they need a username and password to allow you.. they are using PPoE so put your username and password in the PPoE settings for your router.

i won't be able to seem to locate someone instruction manual in this router after a rapid seek, yet to endanger a gamble, do you ought to save the settings once you adjust them on the router? different than for that i could believe the 1st answerer.
