Hawaii...it "IS" paradise. The feeling there is a gentle one, as gentle as the welcome rain as you step off of the plane rain or shine, the trade wind breezes carry along the music of the island's past......it never changes....Waikiki is the tourist spot, but oh there is so much more.....it rain in the morning and in Kaawa i use to stand on my porch under a very clean rain gutter and wash my hair with the rain water. One can STILL do this. The island culture tho infiltrated by many ethnicity's has remained and yes Hawaiian is Still spoken.....myriad dialects now....people always smile in Hawaii,,,,,,and the nights are meant for music and singing...luaus are everywhere and no one is ever turned away!~
Hawaii is the most beautiful state , not contiguous to the mainland's 48 states, it has grown slower than the others....it is the happiest place on earth...and its soil is so rich you could practically plant a branch in the rich soil and watch it grow into a tree.....my mother did that.
That is where i am from, yes the people are different there, and I look forward to returning.....
Aloha!

Well, I'm from Iraq. It is a country that's full of history and believe it or not, it is (well was) very beautiful. We have beautiful mountains with snow in the North and we have the Rivers Euphrates and Tigris. They really are beautiful. Iraq was home to one of the first civilisations in the world. We have a rich culture, with Kurds, Assyrians, Turkmen and Arabs all living in one country. We are a very diverse nation.
Even though I don't live there, and haven't done so for years, I still call it my home and it's still special to me.

I come fron a city called Kanpur. Its in India.
I luv this place
Its special because of so many things, like its pollution..... it is taken as one of the most polluted cities of the world....mind u...MOST POLLUTED IN THE ENTIRE WORLD.....now thats quite an achievement..lolzzz
the water of the river ganges here is literally black in colour....now tell me...have u ever seen a river vid black water....smelling lyk anything!!! Thanx to the tanneris which keep imparting colourful chemicals to the "holy" ganges.
its special bcoz of its electricity problems......The power cuts at Kanpur are famous all over India....mind u...ALL OVER INDIA....now dats an achievement again....lol
n yes how can i forget...the world famous "thaggu ke laddu".....eat dem once n u remain in the ICU for quite somedayz.
its special because of the cricket stadium which is so improperly managed dat the BCCI has decided not to hold any cricket matches there.
its special because of high rates of criminal activities eg. burglaries, murders etc etc
its special bcoz of da xtremely corrupted beaurocrats n police.... its special bcoz of da textile mills dat r not running since ages...
oh.... i just forgot to mention the roads.....dese r adorned vid lots of ditches n potholes....u get well shaken up man...by the time u reach home.....u r lolssss
its special bcoz its da only place where the people have been seriously engrossed in not making their city clean.....instead...they r making it dirtier dan ever...
its special bcoz of the unruly crowds......absolutely uncontrollable at times.... n da traffic jams r da best!!!
so....u saw how my city is special in its own way... actually i had lots more to write....but fell short of time...
Anyways...I am still proud to be a Kanpuriya!!!

Where I call "home" now? Where I grew up? Well... let me give both to you and let you decide.
Where I call "home" now... it's quiet, uncrowded, and not so hurried.
Where I grew up... Lots of special memories.
