hey!

Need not 2 worry buddy.....take it easy.

See paging and virtual memory are two memory mngmt techniques that any operating system(Windows Xp) use..
You getting message because It has insufficient amount of memory assigned...
Althou' Windows manages these stuffs.....by itself, still they wanted to inform you about the prob. and wanted to know whether if you want to set those values by yourself(which i think not recommended)S

Solution is.....
1. Clear up some of the useless memory chunks in your primary drive(drive C: or wherever you got windows)
2. either let the window do it...n correct the amount of memory reqd for paging.
3. You can set it by yourself too..but do it under expert guidance.

and the address is not control panel.
go to..
right click on *my computer* -->advanced--->performance--->paging *here set the value like 375 mb.

hope this will help
Cheers:)

Page filing is your system tool. You can access this in Control panel/ system or right clicking on my computer and going to properties (IN XP) from there click on the Advanced Tab -> Performance Settings -> Advanced Tab. then at the bottom of that window will be your virtual memory settings enter that and make sure the System Managed option is selected. If it already selected and you still receive the problem, select the manual option and for the minimum try 2048 and the Max around 3488.

This is a spurious error that can occur on the first reboot following an installation, or following changes to the paging file. It is intermittent - on my test machine that gets re-installed very frequently, I see this error about one installation in 10.

It is more likely to occur when installing into an existing partition as opposed to formatting a fresh partition for the installation.

It is a side effect of the utility we install on MWS/2K to ensure that the pagefile (and the registry) are not fragmented. This has a significant performance benefit.

The error may be safely ignored, and will clear itself automatically on a reboot.

Newer versions of the installer try to ensure that the defragmentation takes place during the installation process, and that further defragmentation is unlikely. You may still see this error in rare cases though.

The software that performs this operation is not installed on MWS/XP, so you will not see this error there.

paging files are created when youve used all your ramm. Yes, you could chage your page file size by right clicking my computer/ properties/advanced.But that would only put a bandaid on the problem. Youve got something using a ton of your ramm. This is usually running two antiviruses at the same time or red flag software like AOell, limewire, banzaibuddy, bearshare, weatherbug, smileys, freescrensavers, webshots, hotbar and their ilk.
