I believe there is an age limit to get in that talent show (maybe 29 or 30??? I forget) And he is definately well above that in years.
I've also heard him admit he can't sing very well.
So NO, he cannot be an American Idol.

Can he sing? No! Can he be........ Just plain old Simon Cowell, Yes! Who cares really. He's like the real personality of House! aka Hugh Laurie. But....of course Hugh Laurie is way sexier!

Simon Cowell is a nice guy really. He only tells people they suck at singing so they'll stop trying because they'll never get anywhere.

I think he`s only good as a proder and manager.Not a singer.
He might not know a single thing about proper vocal projection n stuff like that but I know he`s a very bright musiness man n music producer.
