Go into start up (run/msconfig/startup) and google each checked item. It will tell you if it is neded in startup or not. turn off anything not needed on services too. Apply/close/reboot. Right click my computer/properties/advanced/performance. Turn off anything that says "fade, slide or animate". Get rid of apps that might be using your processor or ramm stealthil y Like AOell limewire or any other P2P. If you dont need wireless, turn it off and use nic ( a favorite of gamers). This will save you about 10-15% resources or more if you got alot of junk. Of course buy some ramm, it's cheap now
