They just took me off Depo Provera because I was having violent headaches that could have caused me to have a stroke as well as lower back pain that was excruciating. I still have the back pain and it seems like every bone in my body hurts in the morning. Depo Provera causes lifelong injuries such as Osteoporosis. There is a $700 million dollar lawsuit against pfizer the makers of Depo Provera right now because of the side effects of the depo shot. If I were you I would not take the shot again and try an alternative source of birthcontrol.

Girl, I gained 30 pounds on Depo and was miserable! I went from a 0 to a 10 (I am petite.) I could not lose any of the weight until I came off of it. I am back down to a 2. Try an IUD. You will be so impressed by how nice it is to not have to worry about pregnancy!

What you are describing are common side effects of Depo-Provera. I'd advise you to stop.
You might consider another method such as Implanon or the Mirena IUD, both of which are progesterone-only and have the ability to halt periods. Your other option is to "stack" regular birth control pills to avoid having periods, but I wouldn't recommend you do this unless you get an OK from your doctor.
Menstrual suppression has unknown long-term effects, so you may want to consider non-hormonal methods (such as a diaphragm, copper IUD, condoms), which have the major plus of avoiding any crazy systemic side effects like the ones you're experiencing.
Best of luck!

I was on the depo shot for a few years and I went through the same thing. I was a raving witch. My hair was coming out in clumps, and I was very thin. When you decide to stop taking the shot, it could take a year for your period to return, and for your hormones to become balanced. I heard they have a new pill that stops your periods. You can talk to your doc about getting on the new pill. Good luck, I know how you feel.

Hair loss affects both men and women. Here are some natural remedies that can help boost hair growth: https://bitly.im/aLWLL While genetics plays a role, there are other factors, including: hormonal imbalances, an underactive thyroid gland, nutrient deficiencies and insufficient scalp circulation.
