If you can't afford a university and don't get offered a scholarship to a university, I recommend you go to a Junior College and start there. You can spend a year or two there strengthening up and developing your game. Many large colleges and universities recruit out of junior colleges. I inturned at a PAC-10 school and they used to recruit out of junior and some community college programs all the time. It is really difficult to go from high school to pros. And with your height, you might want to work into a defensive line position to take advantage of your height. Hope this helps....

Well, first im gonna say that you should follow your heart. what sport you love the most? And if you are limited by your income you should do whatever it takes to keep playing the games you love
If you want your finacial issues to end quick, of course join any draft. You sound like a big kid so why not take you. The NBA took yao ming and he sucked so bad his first years then became a dominate player on his team and the league. But that is different, but similiar at the same time. In my opinion, if you think you can play with those guys, ( YOUR ARE 7'3) go for it
peace

NBA has a rule now that you have to be 19 and/or one year out of HS to declare for the draft. So wait and see if you get a scholarship and take it. If not go to a junior college as mentioned above for one year and then go with the NBA. They like to draft tall guys just because they are tall and athletic. So make sure to work out plenty between now and then.

Only a junior can declare but yes, except if you aren't taken typically a team will pick you up and give you a chance to prove yourself during training camp

NBA teams have scouted you? you played dual sports? I would try the NBA, hell even if you dont sign a long term contract you could still make big money...even if you sit on the bench. then, you would have to money...right??

i'd try basketball if i were you. a 7'3 linebacker is bound to get shaken pretty consistently, taken out at the legs, all that.
