Try these if you can get them to rent----Race with the Devil, starring Peter Fonda.......The Exorcist......Friday the 13th(the first one)......the original film, The Fog.....or try this 1956 film that has the scariest sound effects you'll ever hear in the sci-fi classic, Forbidden Planet, it also has special effects that are incredible considering they didn't have computer enhanced crap back then, if it doesn't scare you, somethins wrong..

You should check out the top 50 Horror movies on IMDB... maybe that will give you some suggestions.
It also has the worst 10 horror movies which for die hard fans of the horror genre would be good to watch for a laugh.
Just go to: http://www.imdb.com/chart/horror

You gotta love the Ring (the first one). It is great! I wont give it away in case you haven't seen it, but it is none of this- killer walks faster than girl runs, car doesn't start, always ends with people falling in love, or just plain gruesome and not scary. Actually makes you think. No way you will be in a dark room with an empty chair just looking at it like no big deal.

I have to agree the Hill Have Eyes the new one, I saw it in the theatre and the camper scene was intense, i saw people walking out because of it, i even thought about it but i love horror movies and wanted to stay, a couple of friends of mine came over to friends house the night they saw it and both were scared to death to be outside, bad neighborhood but it scared them even more because of that movie, good luck, i have the same problem too...
oh and hostel 2 comes out next weekend and i read that eli roth has said that some scenes are realy intense even for him...don't know if that is helpful...
ps...house of 100 corpses is another one too...like someone previously said...sheri moon zombie is eerie and a psycho...

Dude - you sound like a fellow horror fiend, therefore only the top of the line fer ya. The regular stuff ain't gonna flip you off, so here are some true creepers (do switch off the lights, and watch them alone at night):
- The Exorcist: if you have done it, then,
- The Descent
- RINGU (original Japanese)
- A Tale of Two Sisters (Korean)
- Art of the Devil (Thailand)
Hope the above helps.

Hi.There was a movie made in 1967 entitled "Wait Until Dark".Without giving the plot away it is about a blind lady played by Audry Hepburn who has something a psychotic murderer is after. It is a very suspenseful movie and how it is filmed will keep you on the edge of you seat .Highly recommended. (Part of your question is virtually the whole movie !)

"Salem's Lot" by Stephen King, released in 1979 as a Made-for-TV Movie
Starring David Soul, Bonnie Bedelia, Lance Kerwin, and James Mason

I too am looking for a really scary movie. Have you watched any of the Saw movies? They are good. Not scary, but suspenseful. I will check back to see what others suggest to you.

The 2006 version of The Hills Have Eyes. There is always The Exorcist, it doesn't matter how many times I see it, it still gives me chills. Also The Descent is really good.
