I know she's got the best intentions for these kids; but you know what they say "the road to hell is paved with best intentions". Only this time, the hell would be on her unfortunate adopted & biological kids. I mean, the woman professed to having been active sexually in kindergarten & her way of dealing with depression (DEPRESSION people) was using a knife to cut herself up. If she wasn't an "A" list actress & loaded with money, i doubt she would have qualified for adoption anywhere in the world. What if she started being depressed again (she certainly looks it!! more so after she lost her mom) and toyed with the idea of the knife!! She's obviously confused and lost (her famous not marrying a cheating husband/marry not marry decisions?) and reports say that she's not that crazy about her biological daughter (who, i guess, isn't exotic enough for her to relate to) & with her adventurous spirit & sporty sexuality, wouldn't you feel sorry for those kids when their mommy goes to the bad?!

Angie wasn't just a girl who played bad games in KG. I don't think she should repent her past or hide it, as long as she learned "positive" lessons from them. However, telling u used to have "loads of sex" in kindgergarten, proudly, isn't a normal behaviour for a mother of 4. Madonna was a slut. But Madonna writes children's books while Jolie blazens her kindergarten adventures forth to the world. Unless we come to the conclusion that right & wrong is outdated & every pedophile has the right to exercise his fantacy coz somebody else abused him as a child, it's pretty bothersome for me.

2. Cutting herself up would probably give HER relief from the pain of depression. She's actually said she cuts herself up whenever she feel trapped. However, imagine what it would do to one of her kids if s/he wondered in to the kitchen while she's opening up to the knife!

O.K. There are questions as to whether Anjelina Jolie would have been eligable for adoption if she wasn't rich and famous but I find your apparent attitude to depression a little offensive, people which have it aren't necessarily vampires which eat their children! 7% - 18% of individuals suffer from a bout of depression in their lives (ref article below) and guess what, they don't bed hop like Angelina Jolie and are frequently good parents.
So many good people suffer from depression, it is a human condition as much as the common cold or asthma and is also incredibly common and can be treated effectively with a mixture of medications and counselling. I mean it is VERY common.
It isn't depression that makes people bad parents, its bad people that make bad parents.
My brother has undergone treatment now for depression for several years and it is sucessfully medicated with Cipramil. He is also a very good father of 2 children that are very happy, loved and well adjusted (James the eldest is top of his class).

Self-injury is incredibly common, particuarly in young women and noone deserved to be judged on the way they were as young woman when it is so frequently a symptom of growing pains. Look at the article below to see how common it is and for information on it.
Is Brooke shields a bad parent because she had to have treatment for depression? Is Joan Rivers? Is my brother?
Please at least educate yourself on different illnesses before speaking so freely because I'm reading it now and quite frankly finding it a little hurtful.

Maybe you're the one person whose life could hold up under that type of scrutiny. I would hate to tell anyone that they were unfit for parenthood based on their activities in KINDERGARTEN. I have known quite a few people who also cut or attempted suicide as teens who went on to have very normal lives after medication and counseling. If she didn't look depressed after her mother's death, you'd be saying she obviously didn't care. Her mariage decisions and concerns aren't all that different from anyone else's except that hers on in the tabloids even when there's no news. I am more concerned about her relationship with her biological daughter but unlike you, I don't assume that the tabloids have all the facts. I don't say that it's likely that she'll be the best mother in the world but she will be no worse thgan many others. You on the other hand, I hope never have children because it's pretty obvious that no one will ever live up to your standards. Imagine wanting to prevent a woman from reproducing because she played bad games when she was 5.

Her childhood wasn't a bed of roses but it's not exactly her fault. We all learn from the hardships we go through and for sure she had learned from hers.
Motherhood is the most difficult job. She's not the best example of it but l can see she's trying. May those children she adopted and her biological daughter give her the joy she's been looking for.

Obviously everybody has their problems. But people who cut themselves aren't ax-murderers. When they cut themselves it releases endorphines to combat the pain, which makes them feel good. It's actually used in third-world countries sometimes when pain medication is unavailable. So the idea of her taking a knife to her children is absolutely absurd and frankly, ignorant. Doesn't everybody deserve a second chance? I'd very much bet that her "adventurous" past is behind her.

Money cuts thru a lot of red tape.

I don't know much about the girl but maybe she's been thru some serious counseling and can handle it in a mature, reliable manner. And if not, she sure can afford to hire someone to give her a hand. Sylvia

I don't think she is a fit parent & neither is Madonna, mainly becuase the kids are nothing more than publicity stunts. But, when you have the money to hire nannys, then you can just pull the kids out for the occassional photo op & hand them back to the nannys to raise....

She was an emo....so what? The only way you can learn from your mistakes, is to make them. She did, and she learned. She will be a perfect mother, she will know when her kids are going down the wrong path, because she's been there herself. Unlike some people who ignore it and think it's just teenage angst. Then their kid is in prison or dead. She will be a great mom.
