You gotta give it to this bloke! He knows how to spend our money. He had planned all along to set aside a few weeks towards the end of his office to get all these junkets in. He knew when he is out of office, he'll be just an ordinary joe, so get in the freebies and take the wife along. He criticises our 'cynicism'. Huh! 'Cynicism' is what you call someone's views when he doesn't agree with you and you hate his views about you. The way he and his coterie of spinners have been cynically treating the truth and manipulating facts is what made this country tired of politicians of his ilk. Does he realise that he is an embarrassment to the UK these days. He may not like what President Carter said about him, but those are words of wisdom and truth.
Carter did preside over one of the troubled periods of USA econ history, but so did they rest of the world's leaders. Stop kidding yourself - our good times are a result of improved world economy and a modicum of good policies. Wrong again on Carter spending taxpayers' money on his trips! He even pays for his own expenses when he goes around in the US helping to build homes for the homeless which he has been doing for decades. Ever seen Tony with a hammer or saw building a house for the down-and-outs? Pigs may fly before then.

Get off the Prime Ministers ***. Your conservative party certainly has no one on their side of the Commons that has any better plans or chances of working out any of the kinks in Great Britains internal problems. As far as Carter's words about Tony Blair, Carter is an idiot who is all about self promotion at the expense of the American people. His own term in office here saw the highest, runaway inflation and interest rates on new loans than any president before him. Carter is certainly not the gold standard by which to be compared to PM Tony Blair. Who do you think pays for all of Carters junketts around the world ? The American taxpayer.

I know, and what a mess it is too!

He'll have to walk everywhere and wash his clothes by hand while living in a gas and electricity free home to start eradicating his carbon footprint.

How he has the downright cheek to enforce home checks for efficiency on us while he's jetting off around the World is beyond me!

If I threw away this amount of tax payers money, they would sack me & then do me for fraud!

This bloke doesn't need this tour, he is already guarenteed a grand old pay day on the lecture circuit just for retiring as George Bush's hush puppy!

I completely agree. Well, we can only live in hope and prayer that he'll either have a plane crash or the natives may eat him in Africa.

It does not surprise me. His whole term of office has been about self-promotion. He should have gone a long time ago.
