Our health care costs for the workers who cleaned-up ground zero are averaging $393 million a year.

Property damage: $34 billion at ground zero and $576 million in Washington, D.C.

And the list just goes on and on....

Do people really think that we should just come home at this point, cross our fingers and hope it doesn't happen again?

Again - trying to connect 9/11 and Iraq. Why do cons keep pushing this pathetic lie? Even Dubya reluctantly admits the two are unrelated.

Anyway - why keep pushing good money after bad? Iraq hasn't cost us a trillion yet - we are about half way - and no closer to a democratic stable Iraq than we were 4 years ago. (also no closer to finding any WMDs which is what this is supposed to be about).

Constantly changing the rationale does not change the facts.
This war is illegal
This war has been appallingly badly managed.
This war will be ongoing for decades without a clear strategy (other than "send more troops")
This war is deflecting our attention from finding and punishing the people who really did attack us.

Rumsfeld once told on TV Iraq will cost us 50 billion. And he said 'balloney!' when he was asked about some predicting 300~400 billion dollars.

those numbers dont even begin to add up to 1 trillion, unless you tack on the costs of a war that stemmed from a neocon foriegn policy. we should have gone to war with the taliban because they allowed a group w/in their borders to strike us. we went toIraq because they had terrorists and WMD's.... ok, so does every other country.

Iraq stemmed from an armageddon happy policy that seems to think that we have the right to 'reconstruct' nations that we dont like - simply because they might one day become a threat. guess what, ALL NATIONS are potential threats to us. does that mean we go taking out every dictator that funds terrorism and proliferates WMD's in the mid east, africa,a asia and every other place on earth? hell no. why? because its going to cost us a trillion dollars......

Yes, millions of people do.

Islam will cheer when we do, and then they will continue with the domination of the world.

My family escaped Islam in the 1950s. We've been expecting this war for decades.
