Percy Shaw a good old lad from Halifax, Yorkshire Tha noz....Not sure if I am right, but name came from him seeing reflecting light from a cats eyes in the dark...came into their own during World War 2 during the black out...(This maybe an urban myth)
Saw a programme on his some years ago....he used to have two or three TV's in each room of his house, and a time when many people did not have one.....
A very eccentric man.....and being from Yorkshire he didn't like to spend his brass.....

Percy Shaw , in1934. He made an absolute fortune from his invention. More than justified I think ,given the countless thousands of lives that have been saved over the years by his singularly brilliant idea, don't you agree ?
