They do .
Bumble bees are much less aggressive than honey bees, they will not attack a human at all, unless their life is under threat. Once they smell you are not a flower with pollen they will move gently away. Bumble bees do not lose their sting and die if they use it, as a honey bee will.

Yes they do, although humble bumbles (the big fluffy looking ones) tend to be less aggressive in general than the standard 'worker bee'.

That said, bees won't sting unless they're riled, unlike wasps, and usually die after stinging humans as our skin doesn't allow for the hook on the sting to be retracted and hence pulls the bee apart (at which point they REALLY get the hump but can't do anything about it).

If it came to a fight between wasps and bees though, 9 times out of 10 the bees win, as that hook is a real wasp mangler!

READ MINE TO GET THE DEFINITIVE ANSWER TO THIS! Only female bees of any family or species sting because thier stinger is actually a modified ovipositior. Meaning, thier stinger is a modified egg-laying part of thier body. The male bees do not sting. So, if you find a male bee, you can pick it up with your bare fingers and hold it without fear of being stung. You have to do your homework on the different types of bees to know which ones are male and which are female when you are looking at any bee.

PS-Bumblebees can sting multiple times. Look up bee families and species to find out which can only sting once and which can sting multiple times.

Yes but only as a last resort f they are endangered.Unlike wasps, bees leave their sting behind in the wound and usually die afterwards.Left undisturbed bee will happily buzz all round you, collecting it's nectar from the flowers and will not make any attempt to land on you or sting.

Yes, bees sting.

Yes, however only if they are threatened/annoyed. Normally they are fairly docile. It is not in the interests of any bee to sting you as they lose their sting and half their intestines when they do, subsequently dying, unlike wasps that can sting repeatedly until their venom runs out.

Bumble Bees are like wasps, the females and queen can sting several times. Each successive sting is less potent though, but the first one is a Doozie!!

Bumblebees (also spelled bumble bee, also known as humblebee) are flying insects of the genus Bombus in the family Apidae. Like their relatives the honey bees, bumblebees feed on nectar and gather pollen to feed their young. These creatures are beneficial to humans and the plant world alike, and tend to be larger and more visibly furry than other types of bee. Most, but not all, bumblebee species are gentle. Bumblebees are social insects that are characterized by black and yellow body hairs, often in bands, a commonality among the majority of the species of Bombus; however, some species are known to have orange or even red on their bodies, or may be entirely black.[1] Another distinguishing characteristic is the soft nature of the long, branched setae, called pile, that covers their entire body, making them appear and feel fuzzy. Queen and worker bumblebees can sting, but the sting is not barbed like that of the honey bee, so they can sting more than once.[2]

Yes, they do sting. Many think that they can only sting a person once and then die, but some disagree with this.

Only when they feel they are threatened and it's necessary.... because once they sting you they die....... Bumble Bees are friendly......you could have a bumble bee sit in the palm of your hand, pet it... and it won't sting you
