You have to listen to Something Corporate (and the lead singer's spin-off Jack's Mannequin). They do upbeat songs too but their sad ones are really sad. My favourite is Konstantine. They always use piano. Snow Patrol - chasing cars / You Could Be Happy Savage Garden - Two Beds and a Coffee Machine Sarah McLachlan - most of her songs, esp I Will Remember You / Adia / World On Fire Rufus Wainwright - Hallelujah Hands by Jewel Placebo - Twenty Years / Broken Promise Our Lady Peace - Clumsy The Notwist - Consequence Linkin Park - My December / In Between Michael Andrews - Mad World Arcade Fire - Crown of Love / My Body Is A Cage Death Cab For Cutie - What Sarah Said Almost anything by the Editors, esp Well Worn Hand The Feeling - Strange The Fray - How to Save A Life / anything by them
