Why are people too lazy to type out the whole word?

Come on people, some of these questions are hard enough to understand without having to decipher the abbreviations.

Ah, it's us growing old. The next generation developing their own means of communication --- texting is a big culprit. Chatting online is another.

Interesting this is this: the abbreviations and code words are destroying the common sense of how to spell and read. Students may find it difficult to do their writing assignments properly. So these newfangled ideas are complicating understanding, rather than simplifying it.

(and how's this helping them learn how to type???! NOT!)

It could very well be a reflection on Their lack of education. The Military uses a lot of abbreviations for the simple reason that the education level of a great many recruits is far below the community average.

They're more competitive than controlling. A failing of competitive people is that they often want to reinvent the wheel rather than study and do research. By ignoring and never learning the traditional methods they think they're winning by getting the message across in a more creative way than us sticklers who'd rather communicate (dependent personality) or understand (controlling personality), than win.
