I'd just like to correct one misconception. Drinking alcohol is actually the most dangerous very early in pregnancy. The fetus is more resistant later (after the first trimester). This does NOT mean that it's safe to drink at any time during pregnancy; just that it's worse at the very beginning. This is especially unfortunate because many women have a drink (or two or four) before they even know that they are pregnant, and this is the most critical time.

I did. Before I knew I was pregnant, I went out and had a few beers. Luckily, my OB has assured me that this happens all the time, and the chances of anything happening with just two beers is very low.

No one - pregnant or not - should drink a bear. The fur is just nasty.

Nope. In fact, pregnant women should be careful not to eat anything unpasterized, smoke, have too much caffeine, have any vaccines, or take any over-the -counter drugs without checking the list of "safe" medications during pregnancy.

She also must avoid stress, avoid getting too much exercise, not use hot tubs, not get dehydrated, not be forced to stand up for too long, and be sure to consume enough protein, calcium, fats, and calories.

Clearly, doing everything possible to have a healthy baby is a tall order. That's why I want to smack people that would seek to criminalize drinking while pregnant. What's next, sending a cop over to her house to make sure she drinks three glasses of milk every day? Having her arrested for working a 50-hour workweek, since she's stressing the baby? Having everyone who orders the blue cheese salad dressing take a pregnancy test? Get a life, people - pregnant women are not children who need to be "managed".

I'm sorry. I can't resist:

Can pregnant women drink BEAR? Only if it's thoroughly pureed.

Okay, got that out of my system. I believe you meant beer, the alcoholic beverage brewed from malted barley, wheat, or corn and hops; not the large omnivorous mammal found in many parts of the world.

No, pregnant women can not drink beer, or any other alcoholic beverage. Alcohol consumed during the pregnancy damages the fetus, and can lead to developmental disabilities, mental retardation, hyperactivity and learning disabilities, among other things. It is very, very dangerous to consume any alcohol at all while pregnant.

Why, yes!

If they can find a really small one and stuff it in the blender. Supposed to promote somebody in the hair club for men. But there's no proof.

And, oh yeah, they're supposed to carve their initials into the wandering jew hanging over the windowsill and write Lady Crackett Drank a Bar here, even if that's not their real name. Some poetic flapdoodle is justified in these situations, according to a recent lower court ruling, where all the jurors showed up in blackface and sang dem bones dem bones gonna WALK around, dem bones dem bones gonna walk around, now hear the beer of the the lord.......then they all farted real loud and got let out for recess and came back with bear on their breath.

Hey, don't blame me. I don't make the laws.

I wouldn't recommend drinking bears to anyone, they are quite dangerous....and it would take quite a while to drink a whole one, they're really big!

beer on the other hand is a fermented alcoholic drink made from yeast malt and hopps. ask any doctor and they will say stay away from alcohol. I would follow their advice.

so to recap=
Bear=avoid
Beer=avoid while pregnant

no..itll make the baby really messed up..look up fetal alcohol syndrome on the internet.
if you care anything about your baby and your not just completely selfish then you wouldnt even want to drink or smoke cigarettes at all while your pregnant. you can do whatever you want when you dont have your child living inside you and depending on his mother to NOT poison him...

I suppose there is a lot of protein in bear - I would get a good industrial juicer and make sure it has no diseases and for god sakes shave it first!
