hello guys... recently my sis' laptop infected some kind of viruses. However, my laptop got this pop up says that my sis' laptop viruses have infected my wireless router.. .. I am wondering is it possible? What would the viruses do to my router? What should i do? i can't virus scan my wireless router .. :( I am using 2wire wireless router from SBC Yahoo

There is no way for a virus to infect a routers system. You more then likely had a ad pop up or ad-ware infect your computer and it was trying to get you buy anti-virus software.

Dont worry about your router.

I'm yet to see any viruses that infect network equipment, but viruses can be spread (usually very quickly) across home networks as you implicitly trust your own computers.

The best bet would be to run a virus scan on all your computers and make sure everyone is running the latest windows patches. If it looks like the computer is too badly infected then it's time to reinstall windows.

I very much doubt the router is infected, most routers do not talk any kind of windows language. Check it is not your own machine that is infected.

its a spyware install a antispyware software in your sister laptop , and scan it
