I agree with most I saw, but one not mentioned is Willie Roaf. He was the best at his position for over a decade.No question first ballet HOF.

Reggiebush-16 is crazy, he might as well go ahead and make Vince Young, Joseph Addia, Maurice Jones-Drew considering he had more than 700 more yards than Reggie Bush. I am a life long Saints fan, but Bush was not even the most important rooking on the Saints team this year. That would be Marcus Colston. The bottom line is you don't make the HOF for one pretty good year, its for a career. Maybe one day, but not now Nostradamus.

I also believe that Ray Lewis is a FBHOFer, yes he does have a questionable off the field past, but most would consider him the life blood of a great defense that has maintained a high level of performance for a considerable period of time. He also has a few defensive player of the year awards and a Superbowl MVP.

I know that he is not an "active" player but his waiting period (5 years). is not up. I am talking about a 100% definite FBHOF and that is "Prime Time" Deion Sanders.

I really need to get this off my chest after reading some of the "Answers". Anyone who thinks that Brett Favre isn't a FBHOFer is just wrong. His numbers are there and he has the streak. He also has 3 mvp's-the one and only- he has a Superbowl ring, and loved by most.

Jason Taylor, Ray Lewis, Tom Brady, Brett Favre (he's the only qb who will join the HOF anytime soon, only other over the hill qbs with potential HOF careers are Trent Green and Steve McNair and neither of them are sure things.) You guys really made some bad picks though Merriman has yet to prove he's a consistent contender especially being a pass rushing linebacker. Tj Houshmanzadah will not ever make the hall of fame and isn't Hucthenson a gaurd do they ever make first ballet?

QB's= Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Tom Brady
RB's= LaDanian Tomlinson
WR's= Marvin Harrison,Isaac Bruce,Terrell Owens, Randy Moss
TE's= Tony Gonzalez
DEF= Jason Taylor, Ray Lewis, Michael Strahan, Warren Sapp

These are the players I think that if they retired today, have done enough to be a 1st ballot HOFer.

I know several people are bashing the Moss and Owens additions. Both WR's have over 10,000 rec yds and 100 td's over their career. The numbers are comparable to Harrison who is a sure fire HOFer. I know Harrison just does his job unlike TO and Moss, but both excel on the football field.

Some of these answers are ridiculous. Moss?? Reggie Bush?? The guy hasn't even played 2 years - he could suffer a career ending injury in week 1 for all we know. I like sgolds argument that people are overreaching for first ballot guys. Manning, Favre, Brady are locks for the first ballot. I can't believe only one person has mentioned Tony Gonzalez. When he retires he'll be the best TE to ever play the game. I think that 1st ballot worthy. Larry Allen and Jonathan Ogden imo are borderline 1st ballot guys. On the defensive side of the ball Zack Thomas and Junior Seau are the only guys I see as 1st ballot material. Defense doesn't get as much love from the HOF voters as the offesnive side does, so its harder for them to get in 1st ballot.

Manning
Brady
Favre
Marvin Harrison
LT

People like Alexander, T.O., Hines Ward, Moss, Edge, would need a couple of two more great years to make it on the first ballot.

Junior Seau
Zach Thomas
Ray Lewis
Warren Sapp
Jason Taylor
Derrick Brooks
Michael Strahan
Champ Bailey
John Lynch

Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor will definitely make it, but probably they need one more good season to make it on their first ballot.

I have to laugh at some of these. Moss? T.O.? Dude those two will get lucky to get IN let alone NEVER first ballot. T.O. might deserve it(I will never agree Moss does) but the off the field antics will keep him from being first ballot. Moss has two problems. First is the obvious antics that involve on the field. The second problem will always be his I play when I want to attitude. As to LDT I don't care how much you love him I wouldn't put him on as first ballot yet, lack of playing time to establish it. Hutchinson won't go in as no lineman will go in as FIRST ballot. Oh and sorry Curtis Martin may get in but NOT First Ballot. Ray Lewis will always have the murder thing following him, so not first ballot.

OK I'll stop and go to the ones who I really think will be locked in as First Ballot
Brady, Peyton Manning, and if he hangs it up soon I think Farve will be(needs to stop dragging down his reputation outside GB though). I am really getting tired of Chad Johnson BUT if he has the stats to go with the selling himself then I think he can get the First Ballot because the media likes his antics for the most part(which he will also get in in part to counter the complaints about T.O. not getting in because his antics). I don't think there are very many that are locks for the FIRST BALLOT. I think too many are going more for HoF then First Ballot.
