someone told be that even though males will fight, females are actually very tolerant and rather... loving? They get along with other fish and those of their own kind. If I go buy three female betta fish for a 10 gallon tank will they get along great on their first meeting (with the exception of creating a pecking order and determining who's boss)? And will that relationship carry on into their death? I'd like to have betta, but i feel they get lonely by their selves and i dont like to see a fish alone without interactions with other fish. I know a way to get more than one male together without fighting, but it actually takes me breeding a pair and getting rid of the parents, then getting rid of the females and keeping some of the males. That's alot of getting rid of fish! Is 3 females a right number? Or is it possible to get more? (The more, the merrier! I love to have them all different colors! Females can be colorful too! They just dont have as much fin)

Well, I wouldn't call their relationship "loving"! As you seem to already know, they can be kept together, and will fight a little among themselves, but once an order of dominance is established, they will usually coexist. There can be a few individuals that won't get along with others no matter what. If that happens, the bully would have to be removed. Just don't overcrowd them, and give them plants or other hiding spots in case one is being picked on more.
Three would be the minimum number that I'd suggest, but you can stock as many as your tank will accommodate. Where I worked, we would add 25 to a tank so they wouldn't have to live in the cups. We did this with the males as well, but they were one to a tank with other fish species. (Males won't live with each other, but can be kept with other fish as long as they're about the same size and not fin nippers.) In case you would have a bully in the females, you might want to try more than three - if you remove one, the others will only have each other to pick on, and having more to spread any aggression is preferred. Just introduce them as a single group, or in 3s so any aggression from the established fish isn't directed at a single newcomer.
You don't want to keep males and females together unless you're actively breeding, and the female should be removed as soon as the eggs are laid.

you can put an unlimited number of female bettas together and they will get along just fine but dont put more than one male in with them because the males will fight to the death. And basic rule of thumb for fish tanks is that if you have a 10 gallon tank you can have up to 10 fish that are an inch long in the tank

females are okay to stick together. but if you have a male, you must put it with 2 females. no more, no less, but all females can be kept in the same tank.
i even had a tank that was about 20 gallons, I had 1 male per 10 gallons and 2 females per 10 gallons. another words (that is just the formula for keeping them safe and happy in the same living envirnment. the two males each had their own homes on opposited sided of the tank but they livede together for about 3 years.

Yes, the females are fine together. It's the testosterone loaded males that don't get along with one another.

Yes, you can. And you can even put a male in there, and within a week you'll see the females laying eggs, and after that you'll see the babies. Only thing is that the females will eat the babies of the other females.

just to be safe . . . i wouldn't. They are very "specific" about other fish in their tank.
