I mean, your mind is an extremely powerful tool to manipulate your body. It can bolster your immune defense by simply thinking positive (or slow it drastically by thinking negative and giving into despair when ill), controlling fears, and so on. Psychologists use a vareity of methods to help patients end phobias. I'm sure there's ways of changing your sexual perception as well. Take for instance someone who wishes to end a habit of drinking sodas. Once or twice a day, this person will stop what they are doing, and vividly imagine a picture in their mind. In the imagery, the person places the bottle to their lips, about to take a drink. Suddenly, hundreds of roaches swarm out of the bottle and enter the mouth, feelers and legs moving rapidly. Surpisingly, I've heard of people using this technique to quit certain habits. You simply re-train your brain to think differently about a particular subject. I have to admit that recently I've thought less and less about the same sex.

Some of these responses that suggest you can't change your sexual orientation aren't accurate. It's more politically driven than biologically. You can actually alter your sexual orientation, but it is difficult. Pedophiles, for example, are given extensive therapy to change their sexual orientation because they have to (otherwise they spend life in jail). With certain techniques it is possible for anyone (including heterosexuals, homosexuals, paraphiliacs, you name it) to change their sexual orientation.

The technique you've mentioned is interesting, I'll offer another one my abn. psychology professor mentioned. The best technique psychologists use with sexual predators is to masturbate (you can use the internet, they had to use pictures for obvious reasons) to the thing you're interested in - but stop yourself right before you orgasm. (this will, overtime, disassociate the images with sexual impulse)

Then, quickly, switch to the material you'd like to start being interested in and masturbate to orgasm. Obviously, it may take a long time to do the first several times. To help yourself out, just for the first few times, let yourself think of the predisposed material (while looking at the new material) to get back to the orgasm stage, but then focus solely on the target material during the orgasm. (the target image combined with the orgasm gets planted into your subconscious and after a while you begin to relate that target image to your sexual desires)

Do this over the course of months - sometimes it'll require a year. You'll notice you'll be able to orgasm a lot more thoroughly to the target material and less likely to the material you used to enjoy. When you become less and less interested in the predisposed material then simply stop maturbating to it all together and focus only on the new material.

Sometimes the technique is done without the predisposed material - merely the target material. The problem with that is you don't disassociate your sex drive with the predisposed material and, therefore, can easily revert back to the old sexual desire when you see the material again. It's best to use the predisposed material (as mentioned above) along with the new material.

There's an interesting book you should read, "What You Can Change and What You Can't" by Dr. Martin Seligman. I think you will find the information you need in there.

May I ask why you are using this technique for this? What is the problem you are trying to overcome? Your innate sexuality? Good luck.

just enjoy life!!!

I think what you have to remember is that you can suppress who you are, but you can't change it. Why are you fighting something that you can't help?
