I'm looking for some more foreign movies to add to my collection. No matter the country although I'm a big fan of movies from Japan and China.

Just a few are Moon Child, Initial D, Azumi, Formula 17, Bishonen.

Major foreign film buff myself, therefore will not recommend any j-horror or k-horror. Here are some really cool thrillers that you will seriously appreciate, and will not mind it in your collection:
- CHAOS (Japan)
- Swiri/Shiri (Korea)
- The Host (Korea)
- Running Out Of Time (Hong Kong)
- Breaking News (Hong Kong)
- Jakarta (Hong Kong)
- Gonin (Japan)

There's more where that came from. Hope you find 'em and like 'em.

Ugetsu Monogatari -Ugetsu for short- by Mizoguchi is just so good. It's nothing like everything you have seen eventhough it was made in the fifties.
Ugetsu it's the tale of two couple in the middle ages in Japan. Ambition crosses their path and makes each of them follow different tracks. Very nerve wrecking.

Also from the fifties, but from Italy is The Nights of Cabiria. Think of it as a realistic version of Pretty Woman with a comic twist, it makes you laugh and cry. I definetely cry on this one, it is too much, too heart breaking for me.

If you fancy a more extreme film, I recommend Scholöndorff's "The Tin Drum". It's the story of a boy that chooses not to grow up physically beyond the age of three. It's banned in Oklahoma, since it has kind of strong scenes. It's the only movie that has grossed me out because what it shows, but this stopped when I realized the story is made in a symbolic manner, nothing is literal.
