The earth would probably not sustain life without the oceans. Life requires water, and most of earth's water is contained in the oceans. The hydrologic (water) cycle includes water evaporating from the oceans, forming rain or snow over the land, flowing into rivers and lakes, and back into the oceans. Without the oceans, the entire cycle would be disrupted and there would probably not be enough water left to sustain life.

The oceans also provide an essential moderating effect on earth's climate. They absorb a great deal of heat, which they only slowly release. This is why the climate is often milder near the ocean, and it's a big part of why the climate on most of the planet is suitable for people to live in. Without the ocean, the temperatures would be much hotter near the equaator and much colder near the poles. This would result in much higher winds, which would dry the remaining area even further. With so much exposed surface, these winds would likely cause huge dust storms, blanketing any cities and causing great damage to agriculture.

Eventually, Earth would probably dry up and become lifeless, like Mars.

It's probably not easy to fathom just how different earth would be. Presumably, first of all, water would either not exist or be extremely scarce, as a lot of freshwater is cycled through the oceans (evaporation, precipitation as many rivers run into oceans). The next major thing that comes to mind is a huge gap in the food chain. The oceans contain the vast majority of life on Earth, and feed/benefit most others. These are the two major ones I can think of.

study the effect of oceans on climate...temperature, rainfall, winds, the ocean currents
the importance of oceans as a valuable economic resourse
n as means of travel
eg:
no monsoons in India
no rivers either
no rainfall
the present life forms will cease to exist n evolution will begin all over again..if tht ever happens
no fishing in Labrador n many other places where ocean currents flow
in short the climate on earth will undergo a major change n tht will effect the economic activities of humans
oceans r the major water resource so everythin we get frm this resource wud nt be thr

in the beginning no person is familiar with if it ever got here approximately that way. And if it did the quantity of water it took replaced into approximately one hundred,000 situations what's obtainable now, sufficient to advance the point of each and every of the worlds oceans greater advantageous than 4 hundred ft. as we talk there is fullyyt in basic terms sufficient ice there to advance the oceans from some inches to a pair of ft and that would take one hundred years or greater to ensue. The links provide a sparkling explanation of the various water in contact and why it relatively is extremely uncertain if such an journey would desire to ensue as we talk. certainty fairly of fiction, technological expertise fairly of panic.

Without oceans we would all dehydrate. The Earth would smell very horrible, because of rotting fish, and dried sewage. Our military, especially Navy, would be almost non existant. The earth would eventually decay from de-hydration......logically speaking if the grass turns brown and becomes fragile w/o water. Hope this helped!

No beaches, right. People look at the bigger picture, everything living in the ocean would die, and the earth would be a lot hotter without all of that water too.

Makes fishing a tad difficult, we'd only have rivers to fish.

The Japanese whale industry would go belly up.

We'd finally know were those pesky nuke subs are.

We could walk around the world.

would never rain again.

You could go to the shore line where the beaches used to be and not worry about sharks.

And a romantic dinner on the harbor just wouldn't be the same.

Does that help?

If we had no oceans, there would be no human life on earth. There would be no rain, no clouds, the earth temperature would be extremely high. Those are just a few off of the top of my head.

Planet Earth would be totally uninhabitant because water is the most abundant element for life to exist. Planet Earth would be like Venus or Mars.

We would not be here or exist, because life came from the oceans.
