We just moved to Illinois and I was trying to get my records transfered to my new doctor from Indiana. I got a bill in the mail for $60 and they sited the "Indiana House Entolled Act 1081". When I checked this out it had nothing to do with us! I'm curious as to what the laws are on transfering records for Indiana. When we moved from Texas to Indiana it was free as long as they were sending them to the doctor. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks everyone!

There's work involved to transferring records. just because they're transferred doesn't mean your Dr just "sends them."
They're copied, one copy is sent and one is kept.
This takes time .
i agree, he could have done it for free, but he didn't have to .
