It's not as unusual as one might initially think unfortunately. There are many marriages where the husbands and wives don't like each other any more. The difference in your marriage, I think, is that you have recognized that this situation is not a good one, and are getting yourself out of it. Many women stay in a marriage like this for years, and turn into very unhappy, bitter people. I admire you for starting a new life for yourself. I believe that if you are both unhappy in the marriage, that the best thing is to end it. Obviously, divorce should not be entered into lightly, but when there is nothing left of the friendship and love, it is the only solution. Good luck in starting your life over on your own.

Yes, I think it is a shame. You should be loving each other, building each other up. Trying not to find fault with each other, being tolerant and kind to each other, quick to forgive too. Giving and helping each other in all things. You have been joined together in marriage and you are now one. Treat each other well. You are on life's journey together. Read 1 Cor Chapter 13 in the Holy Bible it tells you what love is. You both would do well to read it.

It's probably more common than any of us think. Where there is no like, there can be no love. You don't even have the emotions anymore, that's why you don't even argue, you don't care enough to. Good luck as you strike out on your own.
