It could be a wildlife sighting or a 'near miss' or just a ride that thrilled you for some reason. Please, don't tell me about tragedies, I just want some nice, fun stories!

Ok well there is a trail that we (my 4-H club) called the river ride and we do this about 4-5 times every year. It is cool because you get to ride in the woods and you get to ride in the creeks that is real fun because you get to splash everybody. And in the fair with my horse we have a fun show an we do egg and spoon and ride a buck that is where you get a piece of paper and ride bare back and put the paper under you calf on your leg and ride walk, trot, canter. And we have lots of fun with all of the things on the rides. But I get kinda wild and funny on the trail that makes everyone laugh and it is just a ball Ü I am From central Ohio ( Zanesville)
sorry the answer before that was the same but that is the new account. That I don't want. Ü

Exciting, no. Funny, yes. One afternoon when my daughter was about eight, I took her and my neighbor's son on a trail ride. As usual, I was riding bareback. Unfortunately, I was talking with the kids and not watching where I was going when my horse walked under a low hanging branch. The tip of the branch went between the buttons on my shirt and exited through the pocket. With buttons popping and material shredding, the branch dragged me right off the back end of my horse. I ended up sitting on the ground in my bra--with my shirt hanging in the tree like a flag. So much for parental guidance!

Was on a week long pack trip into a wilderness area in Colorado. Most of the riders went off to fish and one person stayed back to watch the horses. Long story shortened two of the horses got away, they were hobbled, but we couldn't find them. We had to leave all of our stuff cached for later pickup and ride out on the remaining horses. A week later both horses were located in the area where we had started our ride, better than thirty miles from where they got away. Best part, they were OK, no damage except broken hobbles.

Try riding out on the trail with a bunch of inexperienced camp kids and at the furthest possible place from the barn have one of the horses step on a large hornet’s nest! Oh the fun! And screaming! And horses running and bucking wildly through the woods!

Ahh! Those were the days! :0)

Scary--
My mare and I were coming down a trail when she got really upset and jumpy. Out of the bushes, less than 50 ft ahead of us, was a mountain lion jumping across the trail. Needless to say, we never went up that trail again!
Funny--
The same mare would pull up lame every two years when my dad's fraternity brothers and their families showed up for the USC-Notre Dame football weekend at our house. It happened as soon as she saw their cars roll onto the property!
The families were there for three days. Every day of the stay my mare was lame in a different foot; she was telling me she was OK, but refused to give "pony rides" to all the kids and gave me a great excuse!

i have had so many funny, exiting, tragic, ect things happen to me on horses that i can not even remamber then all.

but the most resant thing that happend was to me and my friend was.
there are some donkey by where we ride at and one day one of the donkeys came right up to the fence and my friend was behind a tree where the donkey could not see her and so she jumped out at the donkey and he went running faster then i have ever seen a donkey run to the other side of the pasture just screaming like donkeys do. it was soooooo funny. know when we ride up there he dont come to the fence!!!

then another time was me and my friend were riding down the road and a dog came out in the middle of the road and i think that he had rabbies or somthing. but the would not let us by him so me and my friend went running at himand he did not move. we allmost trampled him. it was a little scary!!

and another can you a picture a drunk rideing a horse. yeah my horse just wanted to come home and she did. the lady almost went head first into a pig pen. she was hanging on by her foot stuck in the sturip!!!

it was FUNNNNNYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One time I was riding my mare and she was being stubborn, so I made her keep cantering and she tripped and caught herself weird. The way she moved made the billets break and it wasn't until I had stopped her to figure out what the jingling noise was that I realized I had been cantering and trotting with nothing keeping the saddle in place. It was a little scary, but also awesome because I realized it was a miracle I didn't fall, and my balance kept me on the horse.

on a trail ride one time my horse kicked my moms horse one foot hit in front of my mom leg the other foot hit behind her leg. needles to say she was pissed!

another time my mom went on a trail ride w/ a friend, they decided to go in a ditch around a locked gate. anyways the horse slipped and flipped over on top of the lady pinning them both on their backs! they had to have a helicopter come out and take the horse off of her. no broken bones, just a bruised lower belly!

oh and i went to a barrel race once in a really bad arena the first foot or so of dirt was fluffy and under that it was slick as a rock. so every horse that entered the arena either tripped or slipped, some fell. like mine she tripped going int o the second barrel and when she went to pick her self up, her back end slipped and we fell on the back side of the barrel. we didn't get hurt, but the brat ran off and left me in the dirt!
