The attention. That, and their life isn't messed up enough to go on the Jerry Springer show. Or even an episode of cops.

Some people get on reality tv shows like wife swap because they want to realize how lucky they have it in their family. They don't realize how good they have it in their family. They think that everything is going so good but then when they switch families everything changes and their world is upside down and it is no longer the same forever. It is an eye opener for them.

I think people get bored with their lives and look for something new....such as 1 hour of fame. Also, for shows like Wifeswap, it could be b/c they truly believe that their lives are the way to go and they want to prove that to society or confirm their own lifestyle. People leave the shows feeling a sense of relief that they're living their lives the right way for themselves.

To walk in somebody else's shoes and to make them realize they need to change their ways and sometimes to open their eyes and make them see that they take their significant other for granted.
Plus, to teach them something new, maybe the other couple is not as fit, rich, or educated as them but they live a happier life?
Maybe they just need a little spice in their life and would want to try to be with someone else to take a break from their daily routine and spouse.

I guess some people don't care how stupid they look or act.
The people who get on ANY of those reality shows aren't smart enough to know what fools they make of themselves...
I do NOT watch them...The previews they show are enough to keep from watching!!!!
