A sigh of relief that the world didn't end because of Y2K.
Not to mention an attack on American civillians in New York Sept 11th, 2001. 3000 Americans died that day. It changed the way we travel and connected security and law enforcement databases that should have been connected and shared many years ago.

The number of tropical storms has increased in the past 10 years. Chunks of ice are melting away in Antartica (sp?). Oh yeah - and the Alps doesn't really have much snow anymore.
