Without a doubt the best James Cagney film is one of the few comedies he ever did. It was probably one of his later films, it was a film done by Frank Capra, and also stared, Horst Buckholst, Anne Francis, and Pamela Tiffin. It took place in Berlin, with Cagney being the head of the German Coke company, and it's a comedy about his daughter falling for a east German and all the silly things that happen. It's called
One, Two, Three. I'm sure none of you have heard of it or seen it, but watching Cagney as a comedian is just wonderful.

...first and foremost, the best James Cagney film, was the 1957 biographical film, "Man of a Thousand Faces"; relating the story of early Hollywood make artist Lon Chaney, Cagney exhues his extraordinary acting talent into a veritable spectrum of emotion and drama. Despite his meteoric rise to success in silent films ("Phantom of the Opera", "The Hunchback of Notre Dame", et. al.), Lon Chaney's life was wrought with almost overwhelming trials, tribulations and tragedy, and Cagney, though he looked very little like Chaney, exhibited that sense of personal triumph and sorrow most magnificently.

Most Highly Recommended!!!
