"How?"
How elicits a type of thinking that most of us are not trained to do. When you can think in terms of process (how does X happen), you move away from the problems of questions such as "what?" or "why?" Many people think in terms of cause and effect (why X....because Y). People think in terms of structure (what is X).

~Actually, the difficulty of a question should be gauged by the issue it is posed to address, shouldn't it? The language by which it is posed ought to be considered rather superficial and insignificant, don't you think? Oops, that was two questions and they started with "Actually" and "The", neither of which is on your list. Never mind.

Why. I'm not convinced you can reduce any question beginning with 'why' to something that can be answered. Except maybe, 'because that's the way it is.'
