as much as i hate the whole "ring" card when comparing NBA players, malone had opportunity after opportunity. he couldnt have asked for a better teammate than stockton and he never won it.
duncan, on the other hand, already has 3 rings, and is likely to pick up his 4th. duncan has been an all-star every year of his career, has been all nba 1st-teamer every year of his career except once when he was on the second team. he has been all nba defensive 1st teamer every year except once when on second team. he is a 2 time MVP and a 3 (soon to be 4) time finals winner and finals mvp. the awards dont lie. malone may have scored more, but duncan rebounds more and blocks way more shots and scored at a higher FG%, the true nature of a power forward. and its not like duncan is a bad scorer. 20 ppg + every year except once and has always rebounded double digits and blocked 2+ shots per game

Tim Duncan should be considered a Center. He doesn't really play in the same areas of the court as Malone did. Tim's always about 5-8 feet away from the basket getting himself set up for a post move.

Yup. I'd say he is in the top 5 PF's of all time. He is a way better post player than Karl Malone and he can hit the 15-footer.
The Spurs have been a consistent presence in the NBA playoffs for the past decade and the centerpiece of their team is Tim Duncan, a real franchise player.

The only difference to me is, Karl Malone was an enjoyable player to watch. Im bored as hell when Duncan plays. I am not knocking his ability, but I just cant seem to get into any SAS games.

Passed Karl? What about Worthy, Bird, Russel, and Walton? Tim Duncan may be better than these guys, but Karl Malone who won 0 championships isn't even second to Tim.

AMEN!
I might disagree with you a little bit. He passed Malone as best power forward ever about two titles ago.
Malone is admittedly a better scorer. But Timmy is no slouch either. He's 20+ppg for his career and he's a better rebounder and defender.
Malone can't use MJ as an excuse for not winning a title. He had his chances, he just could not rise to the occasion.

Agree whole-heartily!!!!!
He has carried the Spurs. Although Manu and T. Parker have helped a lot, you will notice the last champions (Spurs, Lakers, Miami, Detroit) have all had a dominant center or power-forward. Tim Dincan is easily the reason the Spurs have gotten as far as they have in the playoffs.
There is no disbelief or doubt - Duncan has proved he is San Antonio's underrated star.

properly enable's see, with the aid of fact Tim Duncan isn't a center, they the two play diverse roles on a set. interior dominance~ Shaq each and each of how, the guy is a beast below the basket. below the basket offense~ Shaq returned, commonly with the aid of fact he's extensive and almost no you may look after him down low. submit and outdoors capturing~ Tim Duncan, he's probably going one among the main in truth sound gamers to have performed the recreation. submit protection and mid perimeter protection~ Tim Duncan with the aid of fact he strikes his feet greater useful and has incredibly rapid palms. ability to discover adult men while in hardship~ Tim Duncan, he's a huge passer and prospers on looking the little adult men on the fringe. unfastened throws~ relies upon on who has their head in the recreation. They the two suck, yet Tim Duncan has a greater useful profession proportion. they could the two harm their group on the line. ability to alter the recreation with the aid of fact of presence~ Shaq with the aid of fact he's extensive and can basically mow human beings down so as that they only get out of how. His mere presence alters pictures. You be the decide.

Duncan might be a little better all-around. I like Malone because he is a good Louisiana country boy. He has donated tons of money to Louisiana schools.

Maybe Timmy did just pass malone to be the second best power forward of all time, but in my opinion the title of the best belongs to CHUCK,.. Charles Barkleys. That guy dominated the position at 6 ft 41/2 in. Its not his fault he played in league with the greatest player of all time in is prime, TD wouldn't have won a championship if jordan were playing in his prime either.
