At least for the first 3 quarters when Tim Duncan and Tony Parker were playing, Jeff kept on ripping on Kobe without even mentioning Kobe by name.

Here's somethings he said:
"Tony Parker is a great player. There are great players and there are team players. And if you're not a team players too, you're never going to win in this league."

"Look at Tim Duncan. He is so unselfish. He is a team player. And that's why the Spurs succeed. No other player plays like he does. He is the best player in the league."

"I understand stars have egos. I understand they want to win. But you cannot win if you play selfishly. Stars should help their team win not by playing selfishly."

Well, there you go. Tim Duncan, according the JVG, is the best player in the league, but then he IS a crappy coach. However, his team was more successful than the Lakers...

I agree with you, but he does make a point. I personally think Kobe was missing all the media attention so he had to create drama on a close out night in the Western Conference.

Kobe could actually learn a thing or two from Timmy.

I don't really see how those statements are ripping Kobe? You can make an argument that Duncan is the best (or most dominant) player in the league. To me it's Kobe, but to some it's Duncan. JVG is right by saying that you can't win by being selfish but that is not necessarily a shot at Kobe. To some Kobe might seem selfish, but to many others he is not. I think he is a great team player and becomes "selfish" if he thinks that's the only chance they have to win.
And the first and last quotes can't be a shots at Kobe, because he HAS 3 Championships, so how can he be selfish?

it somewhat is the only time he roots for the different group - maximum circumstances Van Gundy seems greater biased in the direction of the Lakers. i think of he needs to examine a thank you to be an impartial commentator and contact the recreation because it somewhat is.

The only thing that I remember was how JVG wished that the Jazz had a 6'5, 6'6 shooting guard who can shoot 3s so that the Spurs had to stretched their defense and forced to put Bowen on that guy.

And something about "Kobe's available!!"

He understands the game, but it sounded to me like he wanted a job at the Lakers. He should get it!

How were the Rockets any more successful than the Lakers?

Both got bounced in the first round. Regular season counts for nothing. Dallas can tell you that.

Van Gundy is just bitter because he hasn't won anything. Kobe's never selfish, it's just that no one else will do anything. 24 has won three rings... Doesn't that count for something?
