I found a post from http://www.dealdatabase.com which I will list below that shows a few ways to check it out. First you need to be able to get into your DirecTV Tivo's software. I have modified my DirecTV Tivo's so I have access to them on my homes wired/wireless network. Then I can access it via TivoWebPlus. If you do not have your DirecTV Tivo Hacked then it will be something that you will have to do first. You may be able to make a Serial cable so you can access the BASH prompt as listed in the Link Below. Just read how and figure out what or how would be easiest for you.

I have a Dtivo, and never had this problem but I was curious to try this out. I looked in mfs for /User and found it curiously devoid of information. I did find some info in /State/LocksLimits. There is a password entry in mine so I am assuming that to be it. I am on OS 4 so this might help someone in the future.

If you cannot make sense of this please feel free to send me an email with any and all info on what DirecTV Tivo unit model number, software version, Etc. so I can let you know how to modify it and access this info.

You have to call Directv (800-531-5000)
They will be able to send a signal down to the Receiver to reset it's password provided you know things about your DIRECTV account such as the last 4 of your social or however they can identify you.

My guess would be to call Directv. They might be able to reset something or give you the code that you set.
