We need another party to replace the Republicans as they head toward extinction carefully prepared by Bush/Gore. I think it should be the Green Party but I am open to suggestions. We should give a minute of silence to a once proud party of Lincoln and Goldwater but their days are only a few more than the number of Republicans lining up to lead them into oblivion. Long live the 2 party system.

Republicans should split into the Libertarians on one side and the Theocrats on the other. They always have made strange bedfellows.

There was lots of talk ot dismantling the Democratic party until Ross Perot enabled Bill Clinton's win in 1992 to put the libs back in play. No way the Green party replaces the Republicans--they're even further left than the Dems. Unfortunately, the Libertarians are too far right for most. Love to see a new party started of conservative values--economically, socially, etc. We could call it the Reagan Party.

Libertarian.
It's the third largest political party and seems to be quite the opposite of both the Dems and Reps, which are pretty much the same thing anymore. Or it at least takes the best of both liberal (e.g. equality without being socialist) and conservative (e.g. minimal government) ideas that the two parties say they are for but rarely if ever put into practice.

Of course, that would be assuming by your question that an actual republican like Ron Paul (who even says that the Rep. party has 'lost it's way' and has the support of many democrats) doesn't get elected.

Well unfortunately the Republican Party will certainly last through a few more elections. If global warming gets worse and causes more problems, their party will be to blame and that might be the end of them. In that case the Green Party should take over, as it's the environmentally conscious party and thus logically the perfect replacement in this scenario.

I don't think the Republicans will disappear; for decades they've been executing people, exploiting the poor and invading countries and they don't intend stopping now.

I think a rise of the Green, Libertarian and Constitution parties and the removal of the Republicans and Democrats could benefit the world.

DEATH TO THE TWO PARTY SYSTEM!
There should be at least SEVEN major political parties, not just one party with two names.

I'm for Libertarians

That was said in the early 70s when Nixon left office, we came back and we will do it again.
