Well it depends what you mean by "thing."
Our sun is just an average size star and if you put a red supergiant star where our sun is, it would go out past our earth, Mars. and Jupiter.
So you could ask what is the largest star?
Galaxies are made up of billions of stars so you could ask a question "what is the largest know galaxy?"
The Andromeda Galaxy is just average size and id 200,000 light years across.
You can see it as a fuzzy spot at night in the fall if the sky is dark.
So the Andromeda Galaxy is the largest thing that a person can see.
But astronomers have observed that galaxies are in groups.
We are in the local which included our own Milky Way Galaxy, and the Andromeda Galaxy, plus others. This group of galaxies is 10 million light years across.
But it doesn't stop there.
The groups of galaxies are themselves a part of larger groups.
A group of groups is called a supercluster and the one that we are in is called the Virgo Supercluster which is 200 million light years across.
