What do fast food and tobacco have in common?
Answer:
1. They are both addictive.
2. Both are unhealthy for consumption.
3. Both cause multiple illnesses.
3. Both cause weight changes; tobacco causes weight loss (doctors used to prescribe it for this purpose and others); fast foods cause weight gain.
4. Both cause ailments that society must pay to treat. Any one using tobacco or consuming fast foods should sign a waiver that if they get cancer or diabetes or whatever as a result, the public will not be liable for their medical bills.

Well, they both had movies made about them. "Supersize Me" and "Thank You for Smoking." They are also both bad for your health. However, people do need to take responsibility for their own actions. We can't just ban fast food for everyone. Some people actually know how to be responsible. If everytime an American overindulges in something, we made it illegal, we would be living in a box. For example we couldn't have cars because people die in car wrecks. We definitely couldn't have alcohol and nobody could have sex. We couldn't play sports because people sometimes die playing sports too. Catch my drift? That's the way I see it anyway.

Both can cause serious health issues
I'm a smoker and it is very hard to quit even though I
have heart and circulatory problems.

I love fast food, who the hell are you to make those choices for people? I am 5'9 135lbs and a size 4 and am quite active and in good shape. Probably in better shape and thinner than you.

Tobacco and fast food are both legal.
Tobacco and fast food are both items that people can CHOOSE to use/eat or not use/eat.

They both lie. For years they have told us that there is nothing harmful in their products. We all know better now but the harm has already been done.
