my big beef tomato plant in a huge pot on my balcony is getting taller and WAS getting flowers but some of the flowers wilted but the leaves look green and strong, but the base of the plant the leaves are yellowish green while the new leaves on the base of the plant are nice and green. The top of the plant looks "bored" or not happy but i think strong. I've checked to see if i'm watering too much so i held back and spritz the plant. Whats wrong with her?????

If your balcony open so bees can pollinate the blossoms? After pollination the petals dry and fall off.. then there will be a bump which should become your fruit.. you should prune or pinch off the "false" branches that sprout where "real" leaves emerge from the main stalks. Also the roots spread very shallow just beneath the surface so you must be careful not to disturb them.

sounds like tomato blight. You may still get some maters, but the plant isn't going to produce like you may want. Could also be root rot. The season is early, buy a new plant and scrub the pot clean before putting a new plant in it. Also, be sure to change out the soil. I have had the same problem before and it just isn't worth not having tomato sandwiches just to save one plant. They are cheap to buy. It also could be insects. check the underside of the leaves for critters. good luck.

When you water garden vegetables, tomatoes included, the health of the plant is best if you only water when the soil is drying out. The closer to harvest time, water more frequently, as this is what will plump-out your vegetables.

Soggy plants can get moldy roots.

About your flowers - when your first blossoms come on the plant, gardeners usually pinch them off / remove them for the purpose of growing the plant stronger before it is burdened by bearing fruit. You'll get more fruit over the season this way.
So, don't worry if the first blossoms wilted. They will come when the plant is ready.

You sure the soil hasn't sunk in around the sides and the water is running down between the root ball and the pot? Common problem. Also the roots may be getting too warm, group some other pots around the tomato pot, roots like it cool, not hot from the sun.
