why is there such hatred between arabs & jews, what is the basis of it all?

Arabs and Jews both lay claim toalestine, the Holy Land, and they have fought over it for thousands of years. After WWII the state if Israel was created for the Jews and it displaced the Arabs in the region. Thus the Palestinians don't have a country.
In Europe the Jewish persecution came to a head during the plague. The Christians blamed the Jews for the plague and started to kill them. A Polish king who was in love with a Jew welcomed all the Jews from Germany into Poland as refugees. The Jews have been scape goats there ever since.

My answer is going to get many, many thumb downs, because in the West, criticizing Jews is viewed almost as a mental disease, but I don't care.

It's not jealousy, because there are many successful groups that have not been hated so much.
The Gypsies throughout history have also been hated as much, or probably MORE, than Jews, yet the majority are poor. So it's not a money/jealousy thing.
There are many reasons.
First one: they refer to themselves as "God's Chosen People". Stop and think. That's a little arrogant, isnt it?

Second, and I think the most signifanct reason, is the fact that they're cliquish. I am a gentile who grew up in a heavily Jewish area (many of them Orthodox), and trust me, their legendary clannishness is not an exaggeration.
*In the area I grew up in, there are buildings that rent only to Jews
*they only buy/sell houses from each other
*my sister used to work in a doctor's office where there were several doctors in one clinic; many of the Jewish patients only wanted to be seen by the Jewish doctors
*many of them can't answer a simple "good morning" but they're all friendly when they need people to let them in the building on Saturdays (they can't use keys on the Sabbath)

This hatred became worse when Israel was formed. They are the only ancient civilization that was "resurrected" so to speak. Why not give the Egyptian Copts their own country? Why are Basque seperatists from Spain considered "terrorists"?

I think this question is a good one, but unfortunately cannot be answered honestly. Jewish people will tell you that Christians were told by their clergy that Jews killed Christ. That may have been true in times past but I do not accept that answer in this day and age. I think there is a lot of resentment towards the Jewish people because the only people who can criticise them are Jewish. If you are Norman Finklestein, Michael Medved, Mike Wallace, or Michael Savage, you can get a pass. I suggest you read The Holocaust Industy by Norman Finkelstein and how people are totally manipulated by Holocaust groups regardless if they are frauds. Imagine if Germany made a museum dedicated to the destruction of the Native American tribesAnyone else who makes any criticism(legitimate or ignorant) will probably lose their job, and be blacklisted as a Nazi. To prove my point, I am sure I will be censored for this answer, I am sure I have offended somebody, and my response will be removed.

The Jews were hated and cursed since time immemorial.
The conflict between Jews and Arabs started from the time God blessed Abraham and his descendants and favored them as His chosen people.

In Europe in the 1500-1940's, Jews were money-lenders to very many people, including kings and princes. Rather than pay the money back, sometimes the despots preferred to label the Jews evil and put them in jail or kill them.

Another reason is that Jews mostly kept to themselves: marrying, trading with and associating only with other Jews. Since they appeared to dislike outsiders, this caused suspicion and the outsiders then didn't like them. It just got worse over time.

Moral: Don't isolate yourself. Trade and social contacts lead to peace.

I believe it is because the Jews are God's chosen people, and all mankind is born against God, so they hate His people. It is only through enlightenment through Christ, that one can overcome hatred of any race.
Of course, true Christians know that Christ came from the Jews to the Jews first, then to the Gentiles. So we owe them our respect, in that God's salvation is through the Jews in Christ.

Because they are cliquish and will offer a job to a Jew before a non Jew even if they are under qualified. They tend to keep their money within their own community.

prejudice people can give no sensible reason for why they hate a group of people. they just hate because they have nothing else to do. it's a sport to them, i guess.
