I need to find someone to watch my babies (ferrets) while my family and I are on a cruise at the end of july...none of my friends are really capable of taking care of them how they should be..so I'm running out of options..I know with dogs you can board (sp) them, but is there anywhere i can take my ferrets where they will played with everyday and taken care of properly?

There are some pet stores that do boarding(small individual owned ones). Your vet may do boarding, mine does. Your ferrets just need to be up to date on vaccines.

You could also try a pet sitter that comes to the house. Some of the pet sitter care for other pets besides cats/dogs.

Check with a local ferret shelter. Most ferret shelters would love to watch your ferrets as they are always short on funds. They will cost you less than a traditional kennel, and will take much better care of your ferrets. The shelter I volunteer for does this often, as do most of the ferret shelters I have corresponded with over the years.

Some vets may board ferrets if you bring their own cage and food (my vet does). Some boarding kennels also take in exotics. Or ask the area vets if any of their techs or assistants do pet sitting--many do on the side.

Call your vet!! Surely you have an Exotic Vet that cares for your babies. My vet actually kept my ferret at his house when I went on vaction. I supplied food and all her stuff and she was fine and I didnt have to worry about her well being because he was her vet after all!!
