I have 3 new fish and want to name them something meaningful. I already chose names, but I want to know if they are a boy are a girl. What is the difference between boy goldfish and girl goldfish.

Goldfish are very difficult to sex until they are sexually mature and in breeding condition. The males will develop what is called breeding tubercles when he's ready to breed. Here's a link with some photos that might help when the time comes

Goldfish are almost impossible to sex until the female becomes laden with eggs at spawning time. Click on the link below to see actual pictures of goldfish (and yes..your shubunkins are there :) ) and compare to the fish you have.

I'm pretty sure it's the color the boy are two or more colors and girls just one or something i heard it some where probly wrong..
