Would you prefer to work for a female boss or a male boss and why?

This is a generalization mind you but I prefer male bosses. Females are often out to prove themselves and are too business minded. Males are usually more confident and down to earth when relating to their employees.

I have worked for both, and generally prefer to work for a male boss because male bosses tend to be more flexible than females.

Female bosses seem to be more afraid to deviate from a strict set of rules or to use initiative to deal with an unusual situation.

I have had several female bosses that I liked, respected, and enjoyed working for. I always felt it was my responsibility as a subordinate to do my best to do what was expected of me.

I have had a few male bosses who were also very inflexible and unfair at times, so there are exceptions both ways.

I would never refuse a job solely on the basis of the gender of my supervisor.

Being a male nurse I have worked for more females than males. The few males I have worked for had, in my opinion, to much sense of themselves as "the boss". Females are more team member type directors. So I would prefer to work for a female. Now having been in management for the last ten years you would have to ask one of the other nurses on my shift about if they preferred a male or not (grin)

I've had both and I have to go with a man. A woman boss (at least the one I had) would take her PMS out on anyone who crossed her path. Her mood swings were really unstable and she played favorites. Give me a man any day over a woman!
