How do you get over it? By reading something with more literary quality. That book was syrupy drivel.

Grab yourself a copy of "The Poisonwood Bible" by Barbara Kingsolver.

Why? What is going on in your life that it touched you so deeply? Do you need to make a change in your life?

Maybe you should get some counseling and talk it over with a professional. I'm not joking; I'm serious.

If your question is serious, you may be suffering from some kind of depression or whatever that needs to either be treated by a psychiatrist or talked out with a good psychologist.

You better get the really soft tissue or you are going to be depressed about your red nose.

Best wishes.

read "Night" ... that'll sober you up really fast ... you may still be crying, but at last you will cry over something that is truly terrible ...

I mean, "The Bridges ..." it's really about a woman who commits adultery, cheats, on a very good and wonderful man while he is taking the children to the state fair. I mean, when one looks at it like this, the woman sure doesn't fit the mold of the ideal wife, in fact, she's the kind of woman every man should avoid, because she doesn't truly know how good her life is, stable and delightful, and cheats on a good, kind, caring and generous husband.

Something to think about ...

It is a novel, like "love story", created to tug at the heart. But it is fiction.
The author did a great job, he caught real life emotions and that is what you are responding to. Do people really love each other like that? Maybe. But seldom in real life.
Would suggest perhaps you read "Love Story".

Lexapro.

Seriously, if a movie has you crying for days, you may want to look into getting professional help.

Keep telling yourself, "It's only fiction. It's only a story. It's only make-believe."
